Privacy
Studio Dunbar makes Unbothered. This policy covers two things: the Unbothered app, and this website.
The short version: the app collects nothing; everything it knows stays on your iPhone. This website uses analytics and advertising tools to see what’s working, and only if you say yes.
The app
What stays on your iPhone
Your time blocks (their names, days and times) and a record of when you ended one early. These are stored only on your device, shared with the Unbothered widget and Screen Time extensions on the same device. They are never sent to us or anyone else.
Screen Time
Unbothered uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity) to block the apps you choose during your time blocks. Apple gives the app private tokens for those apps, not their names or your usage. Unbothered can’t see which apps you open, how long you use them, or your browsing, and doesn’t collect any of it.
What the app doesn’t collect
No account, no name or email, no contacts, no location, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking. Unbothered has no servers.
Purchases
Unbothered Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details or your Apple ID. Apple gives us sales reports that don’t identify you.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. You can turn them off in the app’s Settings or in iOS Settings.
Deleting your data
Settings › Delete all time blocks removes them. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
This website
We use a few tools to understand how people find and use this site, and whether our ads lead to downloads. None of them load until you choose, and you can change your mind any time with , also at the bottom of every page.
Analytics (if you allow it)
- Google Analytics: pages viewed, how far you scroll, what you tap (like the App Store badge, the hold-to-end demo, or a question in the FAQ), the link that brought you here, your device and browser, and an approximate location from your IP address.
- Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and session recordings of how the page is used (scrolling, clicks, mouse movement), so we can see what’s confusing. There are no forms on this site to record.
Marketing (if you allow it)
- Meta pixel and TikTok pixel: whether you arrived from one of our ads, and whether you went on to tap the App Store badge or try the demo. This helps us see which ads work and show ours to people more likely to want it.
Who receives it
These tools are run by Google, Microsoft, Meta and TikTok, who process the data under their own policies: Google, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok. We don’t sell your information for money. We don’t collect your name or email on this site.
Sale or sharing (California)
Under California law, using advertising pixels can count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information for advertising. You can opt out by leaving Marketing off in . If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically.
Campaign links
If you arrive through a link with a campaign tag (like ?ct=instagram), we pass that tag on to the App Store link so Apple can tell us how many downloads came from that campaign. This happens in your browser and isn’t stored by us.
How long it’s kept
We keep analytics data only as long as it’s useful for improving the site and our marketing, and no longer than [14 months; confirm in Google Analytics settings]. Your consent choice is stored in your browser until you change it or clear it.
Hosting
This site is hosted by Netlify, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser) for security and reliability.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK and California, you may have the right to know what information is held about you, to have it deleted, or to object to how it’s used. The app holds nothing about you. For this website, contact us and we’ll help, including with requests to the tool providers above. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Unbothered is for adults managing their own phone. It isn’t a parental-control app, and neither the app nor this site is aimed at children or knowingly collects information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the change is significant, we’ll also note it in the app.
